Great to see another ulster club making the step up, especially a relatively new club with a strong cross community base.
Great to see them get out of J1 too. Super club, but soooo dominant!

a 10/12 axis of Madigan and Whitten will be interesting at Shaw's Bridge if rumours are to be believed!

https://www.rte.ie/sport/rugby/2023/051 ... spectively.
City of Armagh's Ryan O'Neill was named Division 1B player of the year, after helping the club to promotion to the top tier for the very first time, while David Whitten [Queen's University RFC], Michael Doyle [Greystones RFC] and Rhys O'Donnell [Instonians RFC] were also named player of the year across Divisions 2A, 2B and 2C.

Anybody any opinion on the Ulster guys, I know KOTH lamented Rhys not being involved with Ulster.

Was given opportunity last preseason. Didn’t work outImage

David whitten would be better than a few within ulster but prob too late for him.

Quins pulled the game on Friday afternoon, telling the branch of their intentions and only told their players the game was off Friday afternoon. Had a good team run on the Thursday and Quins players pretty drunk off by all accounts. That is bad form if their 2nd team did play. Two fingers up to Ulster if that is the case.

Was gonna go to Quins but went to Hinch instead.

Not seen a team listed anywhere but I liked the replacement 9 - Arthur Johnston I’m thinking it was. Very lively.

Rules say you must cancel teams from the bottom up. If the Seconds won their match they will not get any league points for it.

None of the AIL 2nd teams covered themselves in any glory over the weekend;

Queens 2s couldn't field against Cooke
Armagh conceded 60 against Ballyclare and match stopped early
Ballymena, Banbridge, Clogher Valley & Malone all heavily beaten
Hinch beaten by Ballymoney
Rainey lost to Randalstown

Omagh the only senior 2nd XV to record a win - against Ards.
