They talked over themselves almost as much as the Left Wing Pod and there was some “who cares?” comment about Ulster.
Re: AIL Energia Leage Rugby/Ulster League
Game of the day was undoubtedly the first ever AIL 2C Tyrone Derby at the Cran where high flying table toppers CV entertained Omagh Accies who are languishing in btm third after some poor results of late .
Massive vocal crowds surrounded the pitch and spectators were bussed in from local spots after gates were closed !! Atmosphere was electric .
The game lived up to its derby billing and delivered much more .
CV got off to a stormer with their slick backs carving a gap for a try within 3mins
The signs looked omnious but Omagh Academical lads rose to a man and played their best rugby of the season .
Pressure upon pressure led to x2 kickable pens to leave halftime score line 7-6 in favor of home side .
As the floodlights came on the Accies lit up the Cran with their best rugby of the campaign as Eccles touched down a cross field kick following multiple phases and line break by Braden . Accies pack then sealed the historic win when they rumbled over from 20 yards with hooker Ewing getting the plaudits. Cv scored nothing more other than consolation in fergie time and it was the mighty Omagh Accies who were victorious 14-18 at the final whistle as hundreds cascaded onto the pitch to congratulate their warriors
As the dust settled it was vital away points in AIL for this dogged and skilful Omagh team . They nullified the free scoring CV threats all round the park in a defensive masterclass and really threw the league wide open .
On a more poignant note the Accies president Duff was presented with the John Rainey Cap by CV president Henderson ,which is in memory of mutual club legend in area .
Sometimes it’s not all about the result … that’s the beauty of rugby . What an end to a Proud day all round for Omagh Accies Rugby Club supporters .

Sounds good - I’m guessing you weren’t there as a neutral?!
Looking forward to having my tea at the Sperrin tomorrow night.

Def not a neutral !!
CV have proven 2b a good team & have taken league by storm since promotion. -riding the wave of Junior league success & All Ireland Junior Cup etc . Let’s See how this blip of 2 defeats in a row impacts the squad … no one Denys them their success . Great 2c teams in the west competing with the best .. only augers well
But this was Omagh Accies day no doubt . Omagh lads were by far the hungriest and 110% committed for 86 minutes !
They had to be . Cv are not top for no reason but big John Rainey must of had a wager on Omagh to win from above.
..As above the points are crucial to keeping Accies in AIL and ulster rugby with another team representation. CV will likely still go up & good luck to them but today was a proud day to be an Omagh Accie and a memorable derby win

I would expect CV to go up in a year or two, 2C is not a brilliant league by any accounts

Any more jobs or houses going for ex division 1 players?

Gutted, Instonians winning the senior cup would be bad for everyone in Ulster. Hope they get a good battering by Armagh in the next round - another proper club.
