Possible "A" Team Tournament
Italy DoR Franco Smith:
A Benetton+Zebre "A" side will play against Cheetahs, Pumas, Griquas and two Irish "A" sides in the Toyota Challenge Cup, starting in October.
All 4 Irish provinces were involved, but Toyota cut the sponsorship after the Cheetahs didn't win the Currie Cup.

Re: Possible "A" Team Tournament
That would be an excellent idea. So probably won't happen.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

Yep, let's do it!
Are we talking about two of the four provinces or two sides, say: Leinster/Connaught and Ulster/Munster.

You may see something like the 1st game at Lansdowne Road Ulster/Leinster joint team and Munster/Connacht joint team.solidarity wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 7:23 pm Yep, let's do it!

More likely a Leinster B and the other Provinces scrabble something together.

Re: Possible "A" Team Tournament
Perhaps by combining 2 provinces they can give game time to those further down the depth chart. Will allow us the chance to keep those on the periphery of the 1st team squad at home to train and be available for call ups / injury cover.

Whoever Zebre/Benetton don't need for the URC will then be put into a Combined Zebre/Benetton "A" side etc for the tournament.solidarity wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 9:32 pmAnd the translation of the translation is?Neill_M wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 11:24 am "With Zebre and Benetton we agreed to have squads of 60 players, without permit players.
