Ruan Pienaar

Post by Off the Top »

Here a really interesting article about Ruan in The Irish Times.

At 38 he has extended his contract with the Cheetahs and hoping to move into coaching in the future and he hasn't ruled out the possibility of moving back to Belfast. In fact, his comments on Ulster and the Ulster fans are positively glowing!!

It's a good read.

Ulster doesn't deserve him

Reading the IT article, that is, not Merv's comment.

Not to denigrate other signings, some of whom were excellent, but the best Ulster signing ever…great player, great attitude, great guy

Sure he had to go - Nucifora said he was holding back all those native Ulster 9's who were coming through the system.

Indeed! Nucifora must have had great foresight in identifying the talent of a 14 year old Nathan Doak. Getting rid of Ruan just cleared the way for him!! :duh: :duh:

The only person he was holding back was Paul Marshall. That's how ridiculous Fucnora's decision was.

The irony still gets me that we had to get rid of Pienaar to make way for an IQ 9 and we get Cooney who has consistently been one of the best SH in Europe and yet Ireland refuse to pick him 😂 absolute joke!
