The nhs biopsy came through for Wed of this week ie one day ahead of the private version scheduled for Thursdt 13th........saving me best part of £3k.
Turned up at Lagan Valkey. Admitted, starting to get changed............

Surgeon says we don't have access to you MRI scan. Do you have it on CD? (ignore obvious ripostes.....!!!!).

Well you will have to get it and rebook. We don't want to be doing this without it. Absolutely agreed says I!.

So have spent 48 hours since battling thro Kingsbridge phone and email systems trying to get it uploaded or a CD copy.
Re booked for 26 April.

Can't decide whether it is unlucky, falling between stools, incompetence or just sheer mindedness!

Just been told the cancer still at bay kidney wise but no report yet on the prostate, I get the stent out next week, no anaesthetic apparently, is this a cost saving and I just get a piece of wood to bite on?...................................jeez ohh!!

I have experienced a major disconnection between hospitals/trusts/private HP when it comes to sharing information, or even being willing to look at data that another organisation has created.

To the level that for a period of time, a new separate request for personal information was having to be submitted to the hospital's records department each time there was a scan/blood test/ treatment/consultation in order to keep the private sector professionals informed. The requests were taking a week to turnaround (and that was it being rushed , well within SLA), in which time there may have been 3 or 4 further interventions. Eventually got it better streamlined, but patients shouldn't have to jump through these hoops. I'm sure my experience was not the first of its kind being dealt with by a major hospital.

I get the impression that some NHS docs do not like working in parallel with their private sector colleagues (unless, maybe, it is they themselves or their mates, are the ones doing the private consulting).

No great harm done my first was a groin infection , second — sent home because a patient had unknown complicated procedure and it took longer — third time unlucky — 39 core biopsy

So still in the waiting room then —keep positive
