When was the last time he has had a good game for Ulster?

He was a black hole tonight. The worst in amongst a number of shocking performances.

The best 10 the academy will ever produce given a lifetime ban.

Unfortunately your correct. I don’t think there isn’t even a 10 coming through who is looking a future international.

Burns is just shocking. McFarland seems to be hanging his ulster career on him and it’ll all end in tears.

The buck stops with management. Singling out a player is a cop-out in this situation, especially one who is better than any alternative in the squad (again management’s responsibility) and who has clearly played through injury for us.
Billy is a punch-bag for not being Paddy.

Correct. Couldn't have put it better.

Horrible thread to start, can also appreciate it has been created in the heat of the moment.

Billy is a punch bag for not being good enough however, a thread dedicated to this alone is perhaps a little excessive.
I suppose being a professional sportsman these days means you will face this kind of criticism if you aren’t up to the job.
The number of posts in other threads slating his performances would suggest he isn’t up to the job of a number one fly-half. Even if he has been carrying a knock (for the last four years🙄).

Taking the whether you're a Burns fan or not out of the equation I've two questions

1. Who out there that's IQ available and is better than Burns would you sign?

2. Who within the current squad is better than Burns?

That is exactly the problem.
Burns isn’t good enough, but no one else has put their hand up or been given a chance.

Nor could I, now we're getting somewhere.

Is Flannery better? If someone said yes, couldn't disagree either. Nobody within the current squad bar Madigan has been afforded game time at out half.

Playing devils advocate on question one if we could sign Sexton would we win a league title or european cup?

Undoubtably. Not only would he get the back line moving, but he would raise standards throughout the entire squad.
Do you think Sexton would allow the mediocrity to go unchallenged in a review meeting. And I include coaches as well as players.
