Ulster vs Stade Toulousain 13/01/24 TNT Sports

Post by DodgyEverything »

13.01.2024
Ulster Rugby v Stade Toulousain
Ref Matthew Carley (Eng)
AR1 Sara Cox (Eng)
AR2 Simon Harding (Eng)
TMO Ian Tempest (Eng)
Citing Commissioner Stuart Morgan-Scott (Wal)

Game now officially sold out, for the first time since? Hoping it lifts the atmosphere a good bit, funny what a run of results can do

Might watch some of that in my digs in Pimlico on Saturday night after the footy.

I very much doubt I shall want to see Match of the Day…

I see Toulouse has a Brennan on the bench.

I recall something happening the last time they played ulster when they had a Brennan on the bench, although can't recall exactly how long ago that was.

Can anyone here help?

The Brennan on the bench v Lyon is Joshua who is a lock (French do their bench numbers different. No 23 is the THP).

Toulouse beat Lyon 45-0, they were good. Lyon kind of downed tools in the 2nd half.

All depends on whether Toulouse are committed to the competition or not: team selection, passion in their play etc.

Of course they will be committed.

They always are.

For some reason I'd thought that Toulouse were doing badly but I've just looked at the table. They're flying, so no doubt you're right Al, they'll certainly want to keep momentum going.

Toulouse, even in their weaker years, always take Europe seriously. However, we always seem to turn up against them, even when we've been shyte. However this is a serious Toulouse team, one of the strongest for many a year. Doubt they'd be a pushover against the likes of the Ladybois this time round- could be a thrashing or a classic

Love the way we found a way to win in the interpros and a lot of that is to do with signing SK and DE, two tough buggers who have won more than a Schools Cup.

And we need to be allowed to sign more of them.

In the meantime, a thrashing or a classic does sound about right.

Let’s switch Billy on to full mercurial mode and get him punting those little kicks left, right and centre.

Seems highly unlikely that Toulouse will send a weakened team against Ulster. I read or heard somewhere that we had played them more often than any other team in the ERC 13 times with 6 wins each and one draw so whilst we should obviously respect them they will not be dismissing the trip to Belfast lightly and we should not sell ourselves short.

They have each been given a picture of HWM accompanied by a slap in the face from TB to fire them up. Hoping for the best, fearing the worse.
