So we have an organisation whose biggest challenge is commercial under-performance and we decide the ideal appointment as CEO is… a civil servant!

If ever anything perfectly summed up NI, and indeed the IRFU, this is it

A genuine actual lol moment this morning at least
..one more thing

You have to laugh.

Even if this guy turns out to be a semi-competent administrator, the initial asthetics of the appointment of someone who's job history has been to spend public money rather than help generate and allocate it efficiently is jokeshop stuff.

Watched him play for Dungannon for years.

I'd wait until he's in post before we all criticise him.

With Ulster's injury profile, the former CEO of a health trust could be shrewd, no?
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?

An excellent appointment.. To call him merely a civil servant is disingenuous and ill informed. A steady hand who understands Ulster rugby from grassroots level up is exactly what is required.

Surely we can give the bloke a chance!
I know some fantastic people who are civil servants, other wonderful people with health care backgrounds and a few with both strings to their bow.

I'd rather have this guy than have Cunningham get promoted.

At least he's a fresh face around the place.

Really not inspired by this appointment. When he was in charge of the SE Trust I was on a waiting list for 4 years to get my Mount Merrion Turnstiles removed. These were 4 very painful years and the only reason I survived was the fact that long suffering wife Audrey massaged Sudocrem onto the affected area twice daily. I know the links between my piles and a professional rugby club are not obvious however confidence levels in this appointment at Adoo Towers are not high!

:fleg: super appointment and has my vote , some sh1t talked here about not running a business, look at that clown Logan he ran many businesses and all failed even flogged one of to employees with a £2m loss ffs , we want a CEO not some who ran a business ffs , he managed budgets bigger that UR could dream off , an out and out Ulsterman , I would be more than happy if it was permanent,
