I see Nathan Doak has been called into the Ireland squad as cover for the second test against South Africa as Casey will play no further part.
Why not Cooney ?

Doak is the future and cooney most certainly is not.

I think Farrel was criticism of Cooneys attitude in camp and defence way back in the day.

On this specific issue, Farrell is an idiot

The Cooney attitude problem could be a reflection of a relationship problem between Cooney and Sexton -- which might have its roots a way back when.

Cooney"S Irish hopes went when Paddy was exiled .

Good point until you bring Healy and O'Mahoney into the conversation. Are they the future?
I am not sure Cooney was ever in a Farrell camp. I doubt it.

Wouldn't be surprised if Sexton didn't allow Farrell to pick Cooney, even now he's retired

Clearly the face doesn't fit. Same with a few of our lads over the years.

Should say as well Cooney essentially killed off his Irish chances when he put his hand up for Scotland. Regardless of whether or not it was right for him as a player, I imagine as the Irish Head Coach Farrell wouldn't be best pleased. That's something Cooney probably made peace with when he made himself available for Scotland.

He was capped a few times by Farrell off the bench as COVID began to kick in and was called up as cover another couple of times.

You'd fear for Doak Vs Bokke.
Murray starting then?

Caolan blade is already out there.

Doak won’t even make the 23.

I'd.more fear for TOT if he is anywhere near the squad. Doak is there in case murray slips in the shower on sat morning.

According to the latest camp update, everyone bar Casey and Sheehan who were already ruled out trained today.

Forgot about Blade. Can we assume Doak is no. 5 on the rank, which seems about right ATM . (JGP injured)
So Doak, Heffernan, Stu, TOT and Stockers holding bags and water then. Sure it's a holiday
