Magners league 'double headers' ish

Post by BR »

I was glancing through the fixtures and a couple of them caught my eye:

15/16/17 Sep Edinburgh v Ulster and Glasgow v Munster

4/5/6 May Blues v Ulster and Dragons v Connacht

Now if the timings were right we could lend some support to our provincial cousins into the bargain (or not as the case may be ;) ).

I'm also seriously thinking of taking Castres v Wasps from Toulouse in January.
Can I come out from behind the sofa yet?

I'm planning to go to Glasgow for that weekend in September and head across to Edinburgh for our game - 2 games in a weekend, always fun!!

Sounds interesting.... how far is Castres from Toulouse?

I wasn't at the Treviso-Ulster game last season but were some Wasps fans also there because they were also playing in Italy...? I seem to remember somebody saying this...

About 75 km, it is actually nearer to Carcassonne than Toulouse
Could be an option for another drinking excuse :D

Wasps weren't in Italy - but some of their fans happened to be there on the pss - had a few beers with them, but they weren't as committed to the whole thing as the Celtic Warriors' supporters.

.. but if it is the other way round, maybe we can persuade some Wasps fans to come to our game and support Ulster (appeal to the English tendency of hating the French...)

I must admit tho', you won't get me supporting the pests, one of my least favourite GP teams....

Talking to a french friend; he reckons that french TV will want the ST v Ulster game on Saturday at 3pm and the CO v Wasps game would be Friday night.(of course that could all change depending on the results of the first few rounds)

No better way to start the season on 2nd sept than---

S.Africa v N.Z .. 12noon - presumably Sky on @ Rosetta?

then a big feed at say - Rosetta ? any sport on in the afternoon??

then a further drink or two , and early into R'Hill for say 6pm to fill up on Magners (surly at a special promotion price for the first game) b4 7.30pm kick off.

Get tired even thinkin bout it!!!
