Good Morning Australia!

Good morning Australia!
How are ya.
Don't you know that I'm your ...............

I am a bit like a shark biscuit in all this and trust that I don’t cause anyone to spit the dummy today as you all rise from your matilda.

I am drinking with the flies and pulling on a rollie at the moment.

As you barrack at a game, you may wish to consider the following chant and song:

Bodgy, bodgy kicker! (thrower, passer) as in our Dodgy, dodgy kicker.

Our SUFTUM may well have a relevance to your own team. It may be however that going back towards the origins of the song may make it more suitable for support of your own team.

May I suggest:

Go West, you can win this game
Go West, that is why we came
Go West, they all know your name
Go West, for you are the best

I hope you find this a bit more useful than an ashtray on a motorbike

G'day Cables,
I like your Go West efforts Image I'll put these out to the masses along with "Stand up for the Western Force" I can hear it in the game I got, but wouldn't mind a clearer sound bite - anyone able to sample it at the next home game and post ?

We had one bloke at a game who has an unusually loud and broken voice boom out "You're - a - really - good - kicker" eveytime the opposition was lining up for a penlty or conversion kick - he missed 6 from 7 from memory, and the one he got was at the other end of the ground!

How'd you know my missus' name is Matilda?

Hooroo,

Cobber

Hi Cobber

Someone may be able to provide a soundbite but until they do, perhaps this will get you 'on song'.

http://resources.bravenet.com/audio_cli ... st/listen/

The bit you need is the repeating theme that matches the words:

Stand up, for the Ulstermen
Stand up, for the Ulstermen
Stand up, for the Ulstermen
Stand up, for - THE - ULSTERMEN!

Stand Up, you can win this game
Stand Up, that is why we came
Stand Up, they all know your name
Stand Up, for you are the Best

Go West, you can win this game
Go West, that is why we came
Go West, they all know your name
Go West, for you are the Best

Watch out however as there are two themes which sound similar but are different. The one you want is the 'rising cresendo' rather than the stacato one ("together") and is perhaps best heard towards the end.

Good luck.

I am hoping for a commission for promoting local produce Paul.

Would our Australian friends like to buy some NI beef or Apples (sorry, I heard they had all been bought up!).

"Go West" has come up a few times (being a West Australian team) and it I didn;t pick the tune form the match - it all comes togther! I'm running with this - thanks for the help!

Bushmills? Is it a Whiskey? Jamesons is a fave of mine Image

Yes, it is a Whiskey and not a Whisky.

I have to say your knowledge of these matters is considerable for one so remote from these islands.

Bushmills is good as is the Famous Grouse (me), Bells etc. Generally, other whiskeys are not to my liking however - too harsh IMO.

I would rank Bush above most belended scotch, though I am quite fond of the occasional single malt

Cobber - he wouldn't need to do that at an Ulster match or he could be 'hounded' for ever and a day   - so speaks the voice of experience

...well there is a tradition of silence for all kickers at Irish grounds goody. But I reckon that you've had more that enough hassle as a result already. Don't let the b*ggers grind you down, but do keep your voice down during kicks in future
