Saints are hovering near the bottom of the GP... they are looking for someone to kick the penalties and ping the corners rather than spark brilliant attacking moves (which their backs aren't capable of finishing anyway)

Was surprised to see that, thought he had retired and didn't realise he was so young when he signed for Saints, could be a shrewd signing by Hill.

seems pretty clear that Mike Phillips is going to the Os for a reported £180k/ year. Interesting that the Blues can't or won't match that.
Where does that leave our Justin I wonder?

Wouldn't like to think Ulster would pay Philips that amount, he's not worth it, plays a bit like Hugo but nearly always gets turned over on a break where Hugo at about half the size rarely gets turned
The big galoot is a liability, so now the O's have 2 daft scrummies

Phillips must be one of the highest paid home grown players in the ML.
Marshall to Stade, Taylor, Parisse and Martin is some back row.

also Gough reported to be moving from Dragons to Os.............is there any player in Wales they haven't signed?
WRU apparently have no problem with big money moves between the Welsh regions.

It is reported in the BBC link about the Ospreys trying to sign Mark Taylor that Marshall hadn't been interesting Stade. Realistically the O's aren't going to splash £180 k a year on Phillips if Marshall is staying with Spice there as well. I see it as the O's have pretty much realised Marshall is off and given Phillips his contract.
