True, there are decent JD's about. The one in Raynes Park near my new work is new and relatively pleasant. It doesn't have a lot of competition to be fair. Also one in Holborn which is OK. And maybe Stoke Newington at a push. The one in Angel, called The Angel, hilariously, smells of death however.H'woodMike2umate wrote:Moff - ever tried a Wetherspoons? Their "atmosphere" can vary a lot but the Ballymena one aint bad - and a Pint of Guinness in Weatherspoons(The Spinning Mill) in Ballymena is a mere £1.99 which does make you wonder why CIYMS have to charge £2.15 .

The Angel of Monopoly fame? Amazingly that has been the first thing most people say to me when they ask where my office will be in London, and I say "Fleet Street" - "Oh, really? As in, Monopoly?! That's so exciting!" (yes you would be right in assuming they don't have much excitement in life!!)the Moff wrote:The one in Angel, called The Angel, hilariously, smells of death however.
I got a small (really was) glass of house wine the other night and it cost £4! I'm a student, I can't afford these prices!

Moff you could become a Conservative, join the Carlton Club and then get beer at £1.75 a pint, if you drink enough per year it will cover the annual subscription.the Moff wrote:CentralBloodyLondon: about £3
