Haircut 100 put on a good show at Limelight tonight, as did The Wedding Present a few weeks ago.

Someone with taste booking the bands for Custom House Square for a change.

That’s The Pixies and PJ Harvey confirmed for next August.

I was a young man the last time I saw Polly up close and personal.

Not much competition, although Engelbert must run them close?!

Pixies are a good one. :thumleft:

New Model Army at the Mandela in April.
Best band at the SLF CHSq gig a couple of years ago (imho) although the ageing punks didn't seem overly impressed

My old mates played TOTP and were the Radio1 power play for a week, then the BBC banned it as too political and the sales ground to a halt, sold well in Europe though. They also opened the Isle of Wight festival when Bob Dylan was on.
Kasabian were a Leicester band more recently.

Cool.

Alain Whyte, Gary Day, Gustavo Manzur, Spencer Cobrin and Craig Gannon (the 5th Smith) were at the Ulster Sports Club tonight.

Their common denominator is, of course, Morrissey.

And they did ‘Last of the Famous International Playboys’ which kind of made my week.

I see yon Newtonabbey Disc Jockey has created history by becoming the first NI-er to host Radio 1’s flagship breakfast show.

Any concerns about the depth of his musical knowledge were brushed away by BBC bosses after he explained he hadn’t heard of Dave Grohl because he’d been too busy dancing to Britney Spears.

I hope you’re all proud.

The last time I listened to Radio 1, Steve Wright was still on it!

They’ll be pensioning him off Radio 2 soon.

Good to see that the powers that be finally decided it was safe to give him an MBE.

Trying to listen to the UR fans forum on YouTube. Is it just my laptop or is the sound terrible? Just about to give up.

One of the great things about tis forum is that we can have a wee rant...

I know tghat this thread is about listening to music but I just need a rant. Listen to: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001vc95 from 25.25. For all of us over a certain age, this is absolutely dreadful, self absorbed nonsense. If this is typical of 'GenZee' then I'm glad I won't be around when they grow up, if they actually ever do.
