At least we have Crothers & Sheridan still in academy and a good U20 turn out in forwards this year.
Sheridan maybe but Crothers has little chance of making the professional game IMO.

Sean reffell will have been signed with a view to start which likely moves timoney back into the 6 shirt. McCann is likely to continue gaining more minutes, think Munster is the only URC game he hasn't been involved with, which further squeezes options.

Edit* completely forgot to add in re-signing Murphy.

Does anyone know the story with Azur Allison, seemed to go from highly rated but injury affected to never mentioned again
Azur was chopped before Christmas.

Shame, was really hoping he'd step up!
Azur was never going to be at that level.

Remember the academy selected Ben Carson before Jude postlewaite.
Personally I think they have a lot to answer for,too many times they get it soo wrong.

Maybe with Campbell out now this will change?

Stewart ahead of O’Donnell.

at least these were remedied.

it will be interesting to see how many ulster u20s are named to start today, Crothers and McCormick is my best guess.

Yeh agree but I don’t know how they could get it so badly wrong.

Anybody who watches school boy rugby regularly could see it was wrong.

Rankin ahead of McIlroy was the stupidest decision ever. Thankfully McIlroy didn’t upsticks and go to England.

And I don’t see either of them playing more than 5 times for the seniors.

I havent seen enough of them to comment, although McCormick seems to be doing well for Ballymena.

Reading Leinster fans, seems Bernard Jackman on a pod cast said Ulster are signing 26 year old IQ'd lock Frank Bradshaw who is currently at Nevers in Pro D2. He is 6 ft 9 in and 18 st.

Looking at his stats, last season started 19/30 and benched for a further 4 games last season and this season from 19 games, started 4 games and benched for 3 games.

Is this a thing? Quick twitter search shows he signed new 2 year deal in January so guessing no.

Dave O'Connor and Mick Kearney are yet to renew for next season so far.

Had planned to listen to the 42 ie podcast in the morning but Jackman is well connected, not least in France, and I’d be surprised if he’s wide of the mark.

Wasn’t mentioned on yesterday’s 42ie pod.

He couldn’t quite stop himself from saying “unfortunately” after he tipped Ulster for tonight, but I’m sure we can forgive him for that.
