There are a lot of delicious things to eat in this world.
Mince pies are not one of them.

Mince pies are great !
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

Mince pies are a bit of a generational thing now. Nobody under 50 seems to like them. I think Standup may be a bit of an outlier here!
I bloody love 'em ... and Xmas puds ... and mulled wine. (Grumpy will probablybe annoyed because I went off topic here. Just for balance, I absolutely hate that cinnamon/gingerbread central european shyte and that seems to fill the shelves these days. I blame the Xmas market.
There are very few things that are truly "seasonal" now.

There should be a law banning this crap before December.
It can be annoying if it gets stuck in the Hamstead Heath.

I thought you should be able to get fruit all year round now, wot with transport from hotter climes an' all that, but I haven't been able to source a decent peach or nectarine for several weeks now.big mervyn wrote: ↑Sat Oct 15, 2022 10:43 am Mince pies are a bit of a generational thing now. . . . it didn't occur to him to take it out of the tinfoil or not to hold the tinfoil with bare fingers as he put the flame directly under it

He wasn't renowned for his intelligence.
Decent chap though.
He took all the laughs we had at his expense with good humour.
