RFU dispute still delaying cup draw
By Rob Wildman
(Filed: 13/08/2005)

The wrangle between the English Premiership clubs and the Rugby Football Union over international training dates and finances has once more delayed the draw for a revamped national cup.

Twickenham officials had hoped to announce the format this week, but admitted yesterday that negotiations between the two groups were continuing.

The Premiership clubs are expected to field reserve teams in a revamped tournament leaving their first XVs to compete in the new Anglo-Welsh Cup which sees 16 teams split into four groups before the knockout stages.
