Re: Gordon West 2011

Youngman: Couldn't tell you, what I can say is that there have been occassions when the teams down the club have lost points/been disqualified from competition as a result of teams up the club not fulfilling fixtures, and it hasn't been a case of players coming down to play in the minor teams. In ad...

Re: Gordon West 2011

As some of the older posters here know I play for the 4ths at Malone and without wanting to be too precious maybe make a few points. 1. The Vikings play in Junior League section 2, not the Minor League 2. We played Armagh in the Butler Shield final this year - it was held at Dromre RFC, not Ravenhil...

Re: Matt Williams on Ulster

Apologies Jack the quote above was directed at the Knight and his comments about Malone - off topic, sorry about that. As for the general points raised, there's not much to add, frankly I think we are killed by committees, probably in the main made up of well meaning folks who give up their time to ...

Re: Matt Williams on Ulster

Lower teams is where I reside and as you know that sort of thing is just par for the course!! Sure it's great to head home and show the missus the war wounds! In all seriuosness I'm not sure why we have such a bad reputation, but it sems to be something that has stuck. No sweat Jack, it certainly wa...

Re: Matt Williams on Ulster

Nice one lad.

I suspect this isn't the topic to talk about club rugby and you seem to have pretty strongly held beliefs about almost everything so there's probably not much point anyway. But really we're not that bad.

Re: Matt Williams on Ulster

Just to clraify, as far as I remember Malone have never been in Div 3 of the AIL. We were in Div 1 in the first year of the comp, got relegated and have been fimly ensconced in Div 2 ever since.

Off topic I know, but someone on here has to defend our honour!

Aye, the Rosie has changed hands, they could't get the game against the westies either.
Not all doom and gloom though - I think and i stress the "think" bit  that the Parador on the Ormeau Road showed the bourgain and the Connacht game in recent weeks.

Cheers

I haven't a clue who will be playing, it was mentioned on the Malone website, but our events guy says that the KO is yet to be confirmed. I actually thought that the Exiles concept had been put out to pasture

I feel that i should reply to iconaclast, as i am one of the blokes who sing tatey bread. I have been going to Ravenhill since i was no age, I have been lucky enough to play there a few times, I have had the massive honour of playing youth level provincial rugby and i am still play every saturday (h...

Cheap is essential!!! no ladies accompanying us, so we can forget about doilies and hairdryers etc!!

Somewhere kind of central I suppose, or at least near where everywhere else may be, would be perfect.

Are you taking the Rankair option as well Rooster?
