I've moved my DVD/recorder/player/up scaler to the back room tv...now I need a DVD player for my big tv.
Sainsburys are doing a deal on a wee blu ray player that upscales with 8 movies thrown in...I'm tempted but I could get an upscales for a few quid less.
Now what I want to know is there a big difference between upscales DVD and blu ray?

Blu Ray is a good deal better quality providing your tv is good enough, not convinced by upscaling at all although it does make a fair difference on some dvd's but not others.

My own advice is buy a Blu Ray player as it will play the dvd's anyway.

For sheer quality, Blu-ray is definitely better... however Blu-ray Discs are also more expensive than DVDs, but you could always just get the Blu-ray version of films you particularly like, and DVDs for the rest.
