That's one thing that you would never want.... a false reputation.
Re: Any word on the Academy?
Are u refering to some players in particular or just brushing players from non big schools with a broad brush?rumncoke wrote:Given the size of the squad it would appear to be a game to allow the Ulster assessors an opportunity to have a look at players they seldom see playing .Former Ulster schools players are a known quantity many of those in the squad wouldn't be and there could be a question of some are highly thought of but have yet to face a team of reasonable players and thus have a false reputation.

Methody never had any interest in producing rugby players. Just winning schools cups.Bayern wrote:If they have ulster are better off for it.. altho i doubt its the case and methody are probably just have a down year or 2.Setanta wrote:Not a Methody boy in any of those squads; have they closed shop?

Good representation of lads from Armagh RFC in those squads

Some decent players from Armagh, couple of really physical forwards,
Schools teams won by a late score in both games.

Re: Any word on the Academy?
Not quite true but nearly it just appears that way
Several of the Current Ulster squad are ex MCB
Their success in the schools cup is down to number and maturity of the players they field along with adherence to a training and game plan .
Fail to adhere and your --- out

Within this carapace of skepticism there lives an optimist
Re: Any word on the Academy?
With the imminent merger and renaming of PRS on the cards it's nice to see a couple of Portora boys representing the school in those Ireland and Ulster squads at their final opportunity.

Boomer, Ross, Lagan, Thompson and Lyttle all in the squads for tomorrow night, all former MCB players ( and all schools cup winners bar Robert Lyttle who seems set for a big future ).

Though he could have been, I don't think you lot can take too much credit for his development.Beattiespastie wrote:Boomer, Ross, Lagan, Thompson and Lyttle all in the squads for tomorrow night, all former MCB players ( and all schools cup winners bar Robert Lyttle who seems set for a big future ).
