Re: Belfast restaurants
Thought the French Village and whatever the Birdcage is now called were well worth a visit.
Very much enjoyed Saturday lunch in Cafe Fish, incongruously located amongst the fancy shops on the Lisburn Road. Friendly staff and tasty, freshly battered fish.
The portion of delicious onion rings nearly finished me off, although I managed to recover in time to queue for long periods at the bar at the end of the East Terrace.

I like Tedfords, problem is I don't want to try anywhere else in case it's not as good. Then that's a wasted night out and the in laws baby sitter points all used up so Tedfords gets my vote. Shu is one I've always wanted to try as I reckon it's been going so long it must be good rather than all these Johnny come latelys all round the city centre now. I work near ballyhack so can't really bring myself to eat out near my place of work !!! Most of them look decent too.
Re: Belfast restaurants
Tedfords. Is a good call. I'd forgotten about it and I've always enjoyed it. Shu is a bit 'Peacock liver, flambéd in opium oil, served on a bed of summer hay with a Kumquat jus'
I prefer a fillet steak, or a Lamb Jalfrezi, with the Mandarin City for some casual grub.

Why are there no strip clubs in Belfast?
Re: Belfast restaurants
The city fathers do not approve. The city mothers probably don't either.Russ wrote:Why are there no strip clubs in Belfast?

Not really the demand for them though. This is Belfast! It's very much a case of - "Very nice, love. Now get your tïts out of my pint, eh."

There used to be strippers in the Harp bar back in the day.
Diddeez would be a good name for a Belfast strip club.

Thats the one I was thinking of Merv, think same owners as the Pig n Chicken or there was at least some link or shared travel costs to bring them over from across the sheugh.big mervyn wrote:There used to be strippers in the Harp bar back in the day.

I like the name for your proposed club, now love to see the planning application meeting at Belfast council for that one

Re: Belfast restaurants
Life could get interesting for strip club owners if Theresa May gets her way.
They'll need to apply for work permits for strippers from Eastern Europe and prove there aren't any British people interested doing the job.

A points system may have some merit in this casemikerob wrote:Life could get interesting for strip club owners if Theresa May gets her way.

Working in the civil service may be pretty dull but coming up with a points system for strippers and sex workers could be one of the more interesting jobs.
Re: Belfast restaurants
Have got The Ginger Bistro lined up on Saturday.
Lovely sounding lass on the phone to take the booking.
