Carbery set to be announced as going to Munster on a THREE year deal. So I guess Ulster announcement imminent.

Fair play to Munster for having the stones to knock any one year loan horlix on the head.

On another note it says a lot that Joseph Carbery would rather spend three years in turnipstan than a single year in Ulster. Logan out.

That will sicken the Lleinster fans who think Murray is wasted at Munster and should be playing with Janny the Hammy in Leinster

Makes sense. If I was Joey plotting my way to no 1, then it’s a choice between Ulster who just about tread water in Europe and Munster where he can play beside Ireland’s first choice scrum half and more than likely play in the later stages of the European competitions.

Yep and no doubt wee Jo will pick Carberry for the RWC squad irrespective of what others do on the back of his forthcoming good understanding with Murray.

Ulster was never an option for Carberry

Firstly he would be for ever compared to
Paddy Jackson and fail
to impress .

Secondly he would have been seen as an imposed solution to a Dublin created crisis and thus resented .

Thirdly he would be perceived as a block to talent coming through the Academy .

But to be honest he will always be seen and considered as a second best like Keatley -- a Leinster cast off on the assumption that Leinster retained the better of the two for themselves .

To be fair Joe has said that all they asked was for Leinster to ask Byrne or Carberry if they were interested in coming here because we were looking at a foreign option. I wonder if that means that we will now be permitted to sign an overseas player. Personally I would rather stick with McPhillips/Lowry unless we can get a 10/12 who could help them out from here. PJ only developed because he was allowed to play and I so far McPhillips has done pretty well although he looks a bit fragile in defence for the top level.

We should cheer we Joey for not coming here. I'd rather have our young uns than a Leinster 3rd choice.

Can Ulster try and sign Jantjies again/another NIQ signing now that wee Joey has his move?

Well when offered the choice between Belfast and Limerick Joey, being of sound mind, chose the sensible option that any sane individual would choose.

Gwan Joey.

You'd almost feel for them as they have it so tough.
