Squad update from Leinster
https://www.leinsterrugby.ie/cullen-iss ... ter-clash/
Lowe and Larmour available for this game after injury. Sexton and Ngatai doubtful. Henshaw out until the New Year with a wrist injury.
No update on Martin Moloney, Will Connors, Charlie Ryan, James Tracy, Tommy O'Brien and Ciaran Frawley.
Leaves Leinster fairly light at 12 (assuming Ngatai doesn't make this game) with Frawley and Henshaw already confirmed as missing. Could move Jamie Osborne in there or possibly a Ringrose/Jimmy O'Brien centre partnership.
Suspect Sexton won't be risked if there's any chance of him aggravating the injury he picked up against South Africa so Ross Byrne most likely to start. Otherwise they're likely to be at full bore.

The Ulster Rugby Medical Performance team has issued a squad update ahead of Saturday’s Round 9 BKT United Rugby Championship fixture versus Leinster at the RDS.
Jeff Toomaga-Allen sustained a left ankle injury during Friday's game versus Zebre. He will have an MRI scan today.
Eric O'Sullivan has returned to full team training following a recent shoulder injury and is now available for selection.
Squad updates in association with The Ulster Independent Clinic.

Ulster wouldn't be too far from full strength. Baloucoune and Sutherland being the main two missing. Something like:
Warwick Herring Moore
Hendy AOC/Treadwell/Carter
Marcus Rea Vermeulen Timoney
Cooney Burns
McCloskey Hume
Stockdale Lowry McIlroy
Can't wait to watch it on tv.

Game also on TG4.
Re: Leinster v Ulster Sat 3rd Dec 19:35 Viaplay Sports 1
I’d have O’toole and O’Connor starting with Moore and treadwell coming off the bench. Would like Lyttle to get more gametime also.
Otherwise that’d be my team, Dave.

It's what I think Dan will go for if they decide to go full whack.Big-al wrote:I’d have O’toole and O’Connor starting with Moore and treadwell coming off the bench. Would like Lyttle to get more gametime also.

I think we will go full whack pal. I hope we do. Next three games, strongest 23 available for me. Followed by the usual surrender in one of the interpros. We have a good enough extended squad to go down to Connacht and pick up a lose bonus.

Dan confirms Callum Reid will be in the 23.
Re: Leinster v Ulster Sat 3rd Dec 19:35 Viaplay Sports 1
They should go full whack. We can use Connacht and Treviso to rotate over this period.

I'd go with the 23 we want to bring to Sale but mix up the subs and the starters. I'd give TOT and Stewart a start and bring on Herring and moore. Hendo should start along with AOC or treadwell with the backrow picking itself, if jordi is fit perhaps start him also to bring a fresh MRea or timoney on in the 3nd half. Stu and Hume need gametime together with stockdale needing minutes in the legs. Stewart and lowry to share the 15 spot. Seems strange to say it but luke Marshall could be in danger of missing out altogether these next few weeks.
Re: Leinster v Ulster Sat 3rd Dec 19:35 Viaplay Sports 1
The team selection will depend on two things
One if a play off position appears secure do Ulster NEED to win if Ulster don't NEED to win Is it necessary to play the best 23 for 80 minutes given the next game is SALE away from home in the ECC.
The only thing is by trying to avoid injury players frequently get injured due lack of commitment either tackling or going into the tackle.

Hendy won’t start.
Stu and Hume will start.
Stockdale won’t start but will get gametime.
Going to be interesting…..

Does Stockdale automatically start in a strongest Ulster XV?
No doubting his pedigree, but with long term injury there are a few that have held their hand up for his position.
