Interestingly heard from a reliable source that Dan was exceptional the past few years in that he delegated to Soper, Payne etc very well and only really coached the scrum himself but has started to do a lot more himself lately

Make of that what you will but it sounded very reminiscent of Joe’s micromanagement. Also might say something on the quality of coaches we have.

Payne is a huge loss from the players POV but that goes without saying

Baxter’s coaching team signed longer extensions than Baxter did.

Connors also always sounded like horlix. He’s highly regarded at Leinster and we signed a very similar kind of player last summer.

I heard a funny story, when he first came up on loan when we had that injury crisis (?) and he was pretty much the only hooker available to start the next game, his lineout throwing in training was so s***e that they got EOS to start practicing his lineout throws in case they had to pick him there - which ws really pishing Moore off in the event he started and as I recall had a blinder!

Always wondered what happened him, he had a good game added some physicality we had been lacking. But his throwing was very poor, which was a shame. Guessing that's what's held him back.

The Telegraph (not the Belfast one) today mentions Dan as being on “a growing shortlist”, alongside Cheika, Rassie and an assistant to Eddie Jones.
