Would expect a lot of consistency between where Ulster feel he plays best and Ireland given Kiss's involvement now. Gotta be honest I don't feel as negative as some do about him, if your coach asks where you prefer to play what is wrong with saying 13. With Anscombe gone I don't see Payne causing Ulster any difficulty.

He's a talented player who's a very good 15 and, I'll stick my neck out (more than Payne can do 
) and say he's a better 13 than most give him credit for. Lacks Cave's all round tenacity, but good attacker, certainly good value for sticking the points on Pro 12 cannon fodder.
I'd like to think a good coach could handle the situation we are in with him, and that he'd be an asset, even if he seems a bit of a pain in the posterior now.
