Cardiff v Ulster Saturday 4th March 7:35pm Viaplay Sports 1 / URC TV / Super Sport

Post by Neill_M »

The Ulster Rugby Medical Performance team has issued a squad update ahead of Saturday's Round 15 BKT United Rugby Championship fixture against Cardiff Rugby.

John Andrew and Craig Gilroy both sustained a concussion during Saturday’s win over the Cell C Sharks in Durban.

The players will now follow the Graduated Return to Play Protocols.

Squad updates in association with The Ulster Independent Clinic.

Henderson, McCloskey and TOT retained for Irish mini camp, Stockdale, Treadwell and Herring may be released for Cardiff.

Just a guess but it looks like there will be a very different team selected for Cardiff.

Who didn’t travel to SA? Work the team out with those who didn’t travel and those who didn’t play against Italy or Scotland.

Could Herring get a run out if the head knock is ok?
Expect EOS, treadwell, stockdale, burns, Hume, doak to all start. Bobbie B and Addison would be nice. Carter and Jones are other options but would still be break glass. Some of the young guys who went to SA should recover quicker than the older ones, so Sheridan, moore, lowry will all be good to go. We still need one more big game from JTA though before he gets a rest.

1. EOS/CR
2. RH
3.
4. SC
5. KT
6.MR
7. MR
8.
9. ND
10. BB
11. JS
12.
13. JH
14. RL
15.

My guess is something like that.

I don’t think the team are back until tomorrow morning but I maybe wrong.

Not a great turnaround for Saturday with the travels and team prep.

JTA, NT, SM and ML are my guesses for the remaining places.

They’ve quite a few injury problems.

Poor old Arhip has just done his Achilles too, which I wouldn’t wish on anyone.

You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.
