Ulster Rugby Supporters Sponsor Energise

Post by Cockatrice »

Am I wrong or has anyone else seen the posters appearing on bus stops etc with what appears to be 2 Ulster Rugby Supporters (careful not to use the badge as with the DH&TB ones) celebrating our success whilst promoting the drink.

Studio photo not taken off elsewhere and wonder if they are simply actors/models ar actually fans.

If it is a photograph then copy right belongs to the photographer

Although the individuals in the photograph might have a case if members of the public and permission had not been requested to use the photograph for advertising

The case of course would be weaken if the photograph was already in the public domain ie printed in a paper

But legal opinion would of course be necessary before taking any action for compensation

the normal odds of winning start at 50:50 and the costs could be high

Do you want to risk losing the costs of the action????

It how the Cherries of this world make a living win or lose they win
2B or not 2B that is the question ?

BB- I was jesting the photo is of 2 'supporters' in 'supporter' style shirts and is clearly a studio made to look as if taken in another evironment albeit a blank background.

I was wondering whether anyone had seen it and indeed the fact that a PR company is using the idea of what is clearly IMHO Ulster Rugby Supporters to seel their product. Cheap idea as it ain't as such branded and just wondered wheter the two models were actually fans.

It extends on from the Hump & Bowe pictures in shirts that aren't UR shirts.

rooster- keep an eye out they are springing up more in bus shelters around the city at present. I just think it is an interesting concept to 'buy' into the success of rugby in this way clearly on the back of what has gone before.

They have done enough not to infringe an anything but interesting that in theory we the ulster rugby supporter is able to advertise this product.

Exactly bb maybe the supporters should take a pat on the back for the fact that some PR company seen them as a good tool to sell their product.

Residents groups don't worry me here in the sticks, no bogs here  , but the occasional individual gets annoyed at country life

Hi Guys,

The reason for the blank shirts is that the Ulster Rugby team are sponsored by Powerade which is of the coke brand.

David Humphreys & Tommy Bowe are signed up also to C&C which owns Energise. They do various photo shoots for them but because the team is sponsored by Powerade they can not associate the logo of the team on the shirts. That’s why its left off.
