Re: Stadium Redevelopment Photos 2012-2014

For those of you suffering withdrawal symptoms from not getting to Ravenhill before the Glasgow game, the Under 20's play Munster at home next Friday night and the 18 Schools play Connacht on Saturday 7th at 1.30pm. Good chance to see what the future holds.

Re: tigerburnies team v Ulster

My two pennyworth - I didn't think the Tigers were 20 points better than we were. Probably a 7-10 point game to be fair. We were too static and predictable in the first half, their defence was good and up very quick, our centres were taking the ball stood still 5 yards behind the gain line for a fa...

Re: IRFU AGM 2013

With regards the projected loss of 26m Euros, surrounding poor debenture sales, this loss must be seen over a period of time. I dont believe that the Puma compensation payment was factored in to Treasurer Tom Grace's figures. Like all treasurers, he gives the worst case scenario. If the Puma payment...

Re: Lions 1st test vs Wallabies

I think the problems with referees was brilliantly highlighted in today's game against the Rebels. As with the Test last Saturday, the game was refereed by a New Zealander. Thats as far as the similarities go. Glen Jackson allowed a contest at the breakdown and the Lions backrow did exactly the same...

Re: Rory Best is NOT a big game player

An interesting debate if one can eliminate all the childish vitriol between a few posters. Everybody has their opinion. Every time I read Stephen Jones, I wonder if I'm watching the same game and sometimes the same sport !! Hibbard seems favourite to take the Test spot for the First game vs OZ. He h...

Re: B&I Lions vs. The Barbarians

Agree with many of the comments on here already. This game was probably played for the sponsors, HSBC. The team has got a run -out, no apparent injuries and an easy 50+ points. The Ba-Bas are no longer a viable opposition, rather a week long party with a match latched on somewhere along the way. I t...

Re: Transfers

Never a good thing came out of MCB, I hope you're still a kid as it's pretty embarrassing to keep going out about your brad pitt school when you've left Probably one of the most inane comments I've read on this forum. The number of Methody boys now involved in the Ulster set-up, combined with the s...

Re: Ulster v Cardiff

If I was busy trying to select the Cardiff starting XV for Friday night, I would take into consideration a few factors. Cardiff have nothing to play for, except pride. Ulster have a home semi to play for. All Ulster supporters feel insulted and aggrieved at Rory's omission. I believe the atmosphere ...

Re: If you were picking a Lions team now

I'm not sure it's that simple at all.... If Sexton is the playmaker surely it would make more sense to have someone a bit differant to change it up a bit when they got on. I'm not sure that wilkinson is the man to come on and win the game, he is certanly the man I would want to come on and secure t...

Re: If you were picking a Lions team now

I guess it all depends on how Gatland wants the team to play If you have Sexton as your playmaker, you don't bring any English 10 with you except maybe Burns. No other 10 has the same style as Sexton. If the play Sexton as the main 10, then you bring Hook and Laidlaw with you as the back ups. Simpl...

Re: If you were picking a Lions team now

Could somebody please explain to me what criteria exists to suggest that Owen Farrell should logically be on that plane to Oz. Granted he is a very accurate and high percentage goal kicker and has a good defence. But what else does he bring ? When the squeeze came on today, he crumpled. He lacks inv...
