Girls in Green

Post by The FRU »

The Girls in green are playing some great rugby this season and if you are not doing anything this Saturday why not get along to Ashbourne and see rugby as it should be played when Ireland play their re-arranged fixture against Wales. . Ashbourne is less than 2 hours from Belfast.

Should be at least four Ulster girls involved and possible five.

View this video for details.

and "if you aren't doing anything on Saturday"
....................................................................................................Ireland Boy's are playing a very ordinary french side that might get turned over and make history. They are going to be (and they better!) specialising in running with the ball (note to scrumhalf) and being very good at the continuity aspect of the game

Think I will go down and get some shots of this. Girls would appear to have upped their game, anyone know why? I watched the England -v- Wales game on Saturday after the men's game, they did not play with that intensity. Just a pity they went down so narrowly in France or that championship would be really wide open. The sixth try was pure strength for those who have not watched it

Don't know what you're smoking UTI but I wouldn't call that french team very ordinary. Yeah, they didn't get out of 2nd gear against the Scots for most of the game but that's just one performance away from home against a team playing close to their best. If we defend like we did against the Italians we may as well lie down and let the French walk in tries. I'm sure the French will be licking their lips at the space out wide. They will attack there, get behind us and then they'll open us up like a can of sardines. They are irresistible when they get to play this way in front of a home crowd. The only thing that will save us in Paris is if the French go in to the match with the attitude that they have the game won before the kick off and Ireland get stuck in and keep it tight until late 2nd half and the French start to implode with the pressure of not getting away from us. Can't see it myself but we owe them big for some of the disappointments they've handed us over the last decade or so.

Oil & Water...

Women's "rugby" needs a Blatter-type figure to make a stand. Take an interest in it. Promote the game. Bring it before a wider audience.

We'll see which French team shows up........ they'll get enough out of their set piece to do the job especially if we defend the way we have been doing for the last year without a top drawer 7 to slow it down.

Some stuff I did but from Wales attack. Still to photograph a Welsh team winning in Ireland.
