Re: Adam D'Arcy
I'm a firm believer in NOT playing players out of position unless absolutely necessary.
From the rolling glens of Antrim through the hills of Donegal we will stand and shout for Ulster as we win both scrum and maul from the lovely lakes of Fermanagh tae the shores of ould Lough Gall we will scream and shout for Ulster as we beat them one and all!

I thought Payne's preferred position was 13.Setanta wrote:I'm a firm believer in NOT playing players out of position unless absolutely necessary.
The King is dead. Long live the King.
Re: Adam D'Arcy
Don't think it's realistic to think that Cave is likely to be in the Irish squad this year barring a succession of injuries. Earls is Deccie's nailed on successor to BOD. The fact that Cave can only play 13 probably means he will be unlikely to bench anytime soon. That said if he is un available there are other players who can play 13 for us so Payne to 13 isn't always necessary.
I have my own tv channel, what have you got?
Re: Adam D'Arcy
No preferred position is full back although was outstanding at outside centre for the Blues. I doubt we will see much of him at outside centre with spence and Farrell providing back up to Cave.kingofthehill wrote:I thought Payne's preferred position was 13.Setanta wrote:I'm a firm believer in NOT playing players out of position unless absolutely necessary.
Re: Adam D'Arcy
Payne only played centre because the Blues had Isaia Toeava and Lachie Munro, while in the centre they only had Ma'a Nonu. His primary position is full-back.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.
Re: Adam D'Arcy
He was second choice 15 (to Toeava) and first choice 13 for the Blues
He was first choice 15 and Captain of Northland. Rene Ranger 13 AFAIK
Ma'a Nonu did not arrive at the Blues until this past season.
He considers himself a 15, but i'm sure the 2011 super rugby season he and Toeava were their best 2 players so one had to play out of position.
