To me this has been more encouraging than most of our matches this year, even those we've won

Attack, off loading, enterprise, fast flat ball...

Against a truly world class outfit.

I completely agree. There's been a freedom to play and an absence of aimless, timid hoofball.

All hall marks of what I would have called 'Doak-ball' from his Ulster underage sides and Queens.

Part of my frustration, and to a degree anger, from this season has been the let down from expecting some genuine attempt at total rugby when what we have actually consistently delivered is puke-ball.

Fair play to McComish, he actually helped secure us some decent ruck ball. Thought O'Connor was very good for us as well, stood toe to toe physically with a monsterous Toulon pack.

Not feeling the usual deflation that has become all too common after Ulster games this season win or lose.

Honestly can't remember... It'll be easier to get up for next week than if we'd gone there just trying to keep the score down.
