Nostalgia at its best jamesie! Took a while for a mention, but mum got there with Tom and Jerry - definitely my fav! Others include Charlie Chalk, Chipmunks (me and my brothers pretended we each were one of the chipmunks and we used to act them out. Is that really rare??!! Remember the episode with Michael Jackson? TV gold!) Wacky Races, I loved Woody Woodpecker, Racoons (though it was a bit scary!) and of course the Flintstones.

Aye, of the current cartoons, Spongebob is definitely the best. Oh, and Johnny Bravo. Though the kids I babysit went through that whole Japanese cartoon stage - Pokemon etc. I have never been as bored in my whole life! Awful pile of sh*te!

Beat me to it Rooster. How many possible ways are their to fail to catch a small bird?

Ding - T&J is the yardstick by which all cartoons should be judged.

Anything by Chuck Jones.

Top Cat (or Boss Cat for those of us of a certain age) is not loosely based on Bilko - it is Bilko in feline, cartoon form (Benny = Doberman, etc)

"Penry, the mild-mannered janitor?" anyone?

Not forgetting our ursine freinds in Jellystone Park and for the Osprey fan(s) amongst us, the Wonderland Zoo (invisible motor-sickle  - I'm glad none of these cartoons promoted drug use - talking of which - the magic roundabout!)
