I agree with Fermain. For what it's worth.

We're just not a polished side
Look at how Sorries run their lineout. Then compare to our movement
Look at how Leicester run their scrum. Then look at ours
Then look at our backline when it's on song. It's unparalleled
But when it's not on song somebody needs to truck it up the middle and be done with it

Kiss has had 2/3 of a season and we were dire beyond words when he took over. From what I have heard, he is starting a total rebuild and that takes time. I believe he will deliver
We don't have a competitive pack of forwards. Tonight too many of our 8 were found wanting. Browne, VDM, Henry, Lutton and Black were all short of the required standard. Reidy disappeared after a good start too.
We need forwards who can contribute in the loose and the tight. We were shown up again tonight at scrum time. Leinster learned from the hiding they got and we weren't able to cope with their intensity at the start of either half.

Next season I'm going to start a new drinking game where you take a shot every time there's a high tackle on Olding
Finish your glass if the high tackle is penalised.

Let's hope you can play it for more than 2 months a year.clearlyoffside wrote:Next season I'm going to start a new drinking game where you take a shot every time there's a high tackle on Olding

That's a fairly crappy suggestion legs.LegsLikeSausages wrote:Let's hope you can play it for more than 2 months a year.clearlyoffside wrote:Next season I'm going to start a new drinking game where you take a shot every time there's a high tackle on Olding

It's just the same every year. I just feel now that if we don't get Top 2 and get a home semi then we don't have the mental strength to win a knockout game away from home.
Re: Mexico vs the Chosen Province. 12 Professional Guinness
For me game lost just after half time. Hendy rips, charges upfield and the subsequent half dozen phases were clueless -one out runners, back line not bothering to reload for attack, forwards looking punctured. They turn us over and by the time we got some momentum they were out of sight. Think this defeat hurts the most because...feck knows.

Agreed with both posts. We need to look at the reasons why we didn't get a home semifinal. We have a very good backline, but our pack lacks brute force and quality.
If we want to win this league we need a more ruthless edge throughout the season. We allowed too many soft games to slip away with sloppy rugby. Scarlets and Munster losses at home were where we lost this league.

Think a lot of folk have forgotten how absolute gash we have been for the majority of the season. The season was chucked in the lagan with the whole Les Kiss in/out/in farce, we will have no idea if he's up to the job until this time next year, and another season gone.
Feel for a few players there half a dozen of them did 80% of the work, but we were let down in the set piece and first up defence.
Was an entertaining game anyway

Depth. Full strength we'll beat anyone at Ravers in this league. But when the injuries come in we start coughing up games and that's how we fall outside... and already next season's injuries have started.Snipe Watson wrote:Agreed with both posts. We've had some young forwards step up in the last few seasons - Herring, McCall, O'Connor - but we desperately need more and for them to maintain their upwards trajectory.

Only team in the league without an international prop. Interesting

Things that need to happen
1. The pack need to become the Sorries pack. Mirror their skillsets and mental attitude
2. The rest of the pack need to look at Hendoooooooo and mirror his core strength and abilities

Nail on the head, losing games at home in that manner is unforgivable and can't be excused, especially when the difference is a home semi final.Snipe Watson wrote:Scarlets and Munster losses at home were where we lost this league.
