Always prefer standing, and seems we are going for the cheapest available so two of us in the £13.50 Pelouse section at the Tribune Jackson end. Will we see anything?

We should at least be able to see the folk in the rather pricey Cat 2 Presidentielle
Re: La Rochelle Away 22 Oct
Any early thoughts on the meeting point/pub for this weekend? Obviously it is a new trip, but has anyone been there on holiday etc?
A very quick google search brought up 3 possibilities - The General Humbert's, McNultys and the Famous Pub. All claimed to show rugby etc.

I believe a local bar posted an ad in the URSC pages. May be worth a follow up.

And this is what they saidBR wrote:I believe a local bar posted an ad in the URSC pages. May be worth a follow up.
Dear Ulster supporters,
In anticipation of the upcoming Champions Cup match La Rochelle vs Ulster on October 22nd, THE GENERAL HUMBERT’S Irish Pub would be honoured to welcome the Ulster Rugby Supporters and be their headquarters during their stay in La Rochelle.
The General Humbert’s is quite a big place and can easily accomodate more than 200 people in a friendly atmosphere.
We broadcast live all the Stade Rochelais games and most of the Champions Cup games, Challenge Cup, Aviva Premiership and Guinness Pro14 League games.
Our pub has 7 screens splitted on 4 sound zones that ensure people a maximum enjoyment from the game…
We are also known as being one of La Rochelle’s most lively places at night. We have a late bar / night club licence and can entertain people until 4.00am!
Regarding drinks we serve most of the best beer and spirit international brands. We have a huge selection of draught or bottled beers, fine whiskies and spirits.
As an example, our products on tap are: Guinness (Stout), Murphy’s Red and Affligem (Ales), Foster’s – Heineken (Lagers), O’Hara’s IPA (Irish Pale Ale), Paulaner (White beer), Magners (Irish Cider) and Affligem Carmin Red Fruit beer.
We will offer special promos on various drinks that weekend.
Our pub wooden decor is linked to sports memorabilia and also linked to the General Humbert’s expedition to Ireland in 1798.
We are located one street from the Old Harbour in the historic heart of the city, in St Nicolas street which is the number one street for the locals to go out at night.
You can also have a look at our 360° VIRTUAL TOUR in order to get a better idea on how it looks like.

Not much use as an H Q as it doesn't open till 1800 hrs. We need somewhere to foregather before the match on Sunday.Cap'n Grumpy wrote:And this is what they saidBR wrote:I believe a local bar posted an ad in the URSC pages. May be worth a follow up.

Why would any God fearing UlsterMan want to drink in a pub that is associated with a rebel and an upstart, next the Felons Club will be a fanzone Belfast 2023 when Namibia play Samoa in Casement Park.. Away and Feçk

I'm from a strong unionist Presbyterian background but was brought up on tales of '98. Had an ancestor who lost a leg at the Battle of Ballynahinch. There was a well thumbed copy of Betsy Gray in the house. It was a given that the Northern rebels were the good guys. It's those bar steward in the CofI that wouldn't be welcome in thon barBR wrote:Kofi Annan wrote:Why would any God fearing UlsterMan want to drink in a pub that is associated with a rebel and an upstart, next the Felons Club will be a fanzone Belfast 2023 when Namibia play Samoa in Casement Park..
