From the BBC: Ireland captain Rory Best will start against defending champions New Zealand in Saturday's quarter-final in Tokyo with Niall Scannell now vying with Herring for a place on the bench
In whose world is a jet=lagged Herring ever going to vie with Scannell?

If I thought there was any chance of the lad getting a game, I'd be happy for him but, realistically I can't see it.

On the other hand, it'll be a nice wee jolly and he'll be back in time for our next game against the Blues on 25th!

Not a chance. We have good depth at hooker with Andrew and McBurney anyway.solidarity wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 6:32 pm On the other hand, it'll be a nice wee jolly and he'll be back in time for our next game against the Blues on 25th!

Don't bother unpacking, Rob....

Greetings from Tokyo.
The weather is cooler and showery. May suit Ireland a bit.We have nothing to lose and I expect a mighty effort from a full strength team. Unlike four years ago.

Good stuff. It never rains in NZ.
Re: Japan RWC
Hopefully the whole sordid set up unravels in the face of an All Blacks power and skill game.
It should do but even the worst teams have a big game in them.
That's the worry.

I’m sure you will watching Frank - wine in hand — with a few mixed feelings .
In depends a bit on Nigel unfortunately if he stops the ABs playing the man beyond the ball in the breakdown -and stops the ABs coming in the side at the break down — the game could be close
Still would expect the Bs to win in my opinion Sexton is less than half the player he was and as such he might be easier to nullify and Carberry will be like a rabbit in headlights if has to come on . Carty wouldn’t fair much better as the Bs back 3 would run everything that failed to make touch as he game is based on kicking into space .

We're going to do it. Rory Best has been at the helm for historic moments for Ireland and this will be another one.
It is a man's own mind, not his enemy or foe, that lures him to evil ways.
