It has the infrastructure and a playable pitch today. Joined up thinking much?

You any experience in running an event this size.
It would seem, given that the CEO finds out on the news, that UR aren't involved in the organisation of it either.

Surely they could have delayed a decision until this am given that the alternative was a match behind closed doors. Had the boot been on the other foot and Ulster complained I wonder what would have happened?

Maybe if you sneaked 18k of us in up your coat then we'd stop moaning!

I see someone reckons La Rochelle should play their home game against us behind closed doors at a neutral venue.

I’m guessing he hasn’t got his flights and hotel booked.

I'm pretty sure that was meant sarcastically.

I'd be curious to know if UR were given the option of playing at Ravenhill but forfeit the match points if it failed an inspection pre match. Jonny and the grounds team would have had a better feeling about it than any external person 24hrs out given the forecast. I'd doubt it was offered and I probably think they wouldn't have taken the risk. Hindsight eh.

I think what people are wondering is if Ulster was a well run professional organisation that knew what it was doing and 'fought for every inch' would the match be taking place at Ravenhill? What are your thoughts?

I'd be curious to know:
Should the covers have been on earlier?
Does a proper ref consider the pitch playable now, even in the bad bits?
Would Ravenhill have be considered safe for spectators, or would it have be behind-closed-doors anyway?
Was the decision effectively made by the broadcasters?
Was Bryn's microclimate a factor in all this?

Apart from that -

And perhaps that is the most worrying thing about it all.

The English retards who run this competition are responsible and should be compensating Ulster any lost revenue due to their decision to move the game from a perfectly playable pitch to an empty bowl devoid of any character even when it's full ... their lack of concern for the fans shows up yet again ... they should stick to watching teams fall out of their own incompetently run league >threaten :banghead:

Why do people ask will they get a refund! Half wits!
Why not?
I read my ticket small print.

1) no liability accepted for an unused ticket due to extreme weather. Though this probably covers travel to the ground?

2) no liability for postponed or cancelled matches. Technically this is neither. If the match is replayed later the original ticket applies.

Not sure I remember this happening before?
You weren't in Brussels in 2010 then.

I wasn't Jackie but I meant the last minute/ behind closed doors thing.
The email from UR said there would be something about "refund options" next week.

How much does a full Ravers generate for an ERC game - £750k maybe?

To be fair, there are times when you could say that about Ravenhill these days.
