Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie
Why aren’t we getting any decent extra games at Ravenhill like Munster playing SA/Crusaders/U20 games!
What is being done to improve underage rugby as they are getting their ass’s handed to them on a plate by every other province every year?

Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie
What have you actually achieved during your tenure of however many years you've been in your job that has improved the organisation's onfield performance?
Re: Dragons Pre Match Q&A with Jonny Petrie
Why if we're so broke did you sign off on the expense of a plastic pitch?

Do you need any help with packing your suitcases?

He is going to be going some to answer this lot in 30 minutes!
Or perhaps he will address a different set of questions?!
Hard to imaging be a more false Q and A session

That’s well documented, nothing new from Ferris here.Big-al wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 9:19 pmFerris said on the Viaplay URC podcast the other day that apparently that cancelled match cost Ulster £1million

Think his disproportionately small brain was confused by the fact that the business lost about a million last year.Jetstream wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 12:39 amFerris is an ex rugby player. And surely at least some of you with your ever so cutting questions are season ticket holders? I mean there’s a limit to how many times I can listen to the powers that be being grilled on the colour of the away kit.
For the record, BC isn’t keen on the blue either and believes the new kit manufacturer will be reverting to a more familiar colour scheme.

But it doesn't stack up, it doesn't take an accounting degree to cross reference the 21/22 accounts vs 22/23 to note the swing is much bigger than £1mil..... also bare in mind it has grown arms and legs from the 700k Petrie originally reported, which no doubt was over egged at the time in any case.
Two disrupted seasons of Covid didn't finish us, one game vs La Rochelle did..... note government hand outs were greater in 22/23 to Ulster vs 21/22....
2022 close EBIT £714,332
2023 close EBIT - £937,226
Difference £1,651,558..... this is significantly greater than any initial over egged 700k which has been even further over egged to £1mil
A fish rots from the head.

It’s all a fairly unsophisticated load of smoke and mirrors as Ulster, like pretty much every sports team, is, in isolation, an unsustainable business.
Ticket income was down 180k to about 3 million which is not great but relatively insignificant.
The key swing in the accounts was professional game expenses going up by 2.5 million which was apparently due to the IRFU going back to charging us what they should have been.
No more money coming our way from the investment in the URC so that’s another hole that the IRFU will have to fill (by reducing our squad size…)

And a new Stadium sponsor required, as income will take a greater hit at the end of Kingspans tenure. That's yet to come out and no doubt has or should've been factored in from a long way out give its a finite contract and the noise around it. And so far no new anchor tenant sponsor- which is gonna be a hard sell.

The 'Rory McIlroy Bowl'. He'll like the American twist.

Are we allowed to call Kitshoff "the Pleasure Boy" and how p**sed off is he at being duped into signing for us?
Never wrestle with a pig. You end up covered in muck and the pig loves it.
