Obviously congrats to all the boys, especially Small Paul and young Paddy Jackson, but flip me they've even taken most of our second string. Lets hope some of the injured players have a very speedy recovery as we could certainly use Diack

Congrats to all 4 of our boys. Delighted for them.

Also looking forward to seeing some of our "lesser lights" playing as they'll still be playing with a solid core of players like Payne,Wallace, Afoa, Wilson, Stevenson and Williams and I'm sure will doa decent job for us. :salut:

I say we'll be seeing Paddy Wallace at 10 at some points. I don't think it'll be that bad though. Who would argue with this team (except 9+10)?

15. D'Arcy
14. Payne
13. Allen
12. Wallace
11. Cochrane
10. N O'Connor
9. Heaney

1. Black
2. Herring
3. Afoa (c)
4. Stevenson
5. McComb
6. Diack
7. Williams
8. Wilson

16. Brady, 17. Lutton, 18. Macklin, 19. A O'Connor, 20. McComish, 21. McIlroy, 22. Olding, 23. Nelson.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.

Surely Kidney will release some players back to their provinces this Thursday?

I'd agree Ruck. Side looks ok and I'm sure one or two will also surprise a lot of fans. I wouldn't be writing Heaney off yet. I can remember even last season people were writing off beagle and Diack and both have done well for us in the last few months.

Other teams will be hit by internatinoal call ups as well and this is something Munster and Leinster have ben dealing with for years, as well as the Scottish sides (given there are only 2 of them).

Would also expect some players to be released back at some stage, particularly the ones just called up.

I'd far rather see Luke Marshall at 10 than NOC...

No way. Zebre away is a must win game and Treviso will be a big physical game and potential banana skin.

For all his faults NOC does have plenty of experience under his belt, cant go throwing a skinny looking 19/20 year old with no rabo rugby time under his belt into an away fixture like that.

We will still have a big physical pack for the games, I would be happy enough to see NOC just keep them penned back in their own halfs and use our pack to wear them about, wont mind us coming away with no try BP's as long as we grind out 2 wins.

Kidney makes it a policy to send unused players back to their provinces during the 6 nations. Why would refuse game time to a bunch of Ulster players/tackler bags holders who won't see 1min of game time during the Autumn?

Your right there Big-al, but the thing is...

Its the Ireland XV v Fiji game at Thomond the day before Zebre, presumably this wont be the same side that takes on South Africa or Argentina and will highly likley have quite a high Ulster representation, Henry, Cave, Touhy, Trimble will be nailed on if it is a slightly experimental fixture with potentially Jackson warming the bench.

Then its the Argentina game the day after we play Treviso away, so even if we do get a few back we will still be missing Best, Ferris, Bowe, Trimble possibly and then Henry and Cave could both well be kept with Ireland incase there are any overnight illnesses or injuries.
