You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

Delighted for him but how did he get a work permit for them when he wasn't allowed one for us?

A he has now played for the Auckland blues, so has top class sport on his cv, fool didn't have that when he applied for us before.

Will be good to see him playing again.

He now has an international cap or two, which is what makes him eligible, I believe.

LastKnight; I could be wrong about this but I was always under the impression that Filo was, randomly, in Ulster, rather than having been brought over to play? But I stand to be corrected on that.

As I understand it Filo was eligible for a Samoan passport which would have got him in but it was fecked up as he was here as a New Zealander?
Has he not a Samoan cap or 2 now anyway ?

Ops lol, my iPad autocorrected filo to fool, missed that.

I'm fairly sure filo was over here on a student visa before, then ulster couldn't get him a working or sports visa as he hadnt played professional rugby at that stage.

Did they not have him over here 'employed' as ground staff to get him the visa and then when it came to playing in a competitive game for Ulster the visa wouldn't cover it?

Hmmm think they might have tried that too, seem to remember him being mentioned in that way, good memory.

Paddy Mac said he was the toughest player he played against. Remember seeing him for Malone a few times.
