Whither the much vaunted announcement that UR has sold it's soul?
Hope is not a strategy.

Realising your market value ain't necessarily the same as selling your soul.

A bit like the Stadium that Ireland play at - they can sell the naming rights, they may even be able to get the press to use the new name if they are writing/broadcasting about it but they haven't managed to stop me and most people I know from referring to it as "Lansdowne road" - it will be the same for Ravenhill.

Something happening?
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.

Perhaps moreso - I catch myself saying Aviva stadium sometimes, but it has little (other than location) in common with the old ground. The slower evolution of the Ravenhill redevelopments means there is less of a old v new split.
Can I come out from behind the sofa yet?

It's a fact of life in modern sport. I'll still call it "Ravers"
Soldiers who wanna be heroes number practically zero, but there are millions who wanna be civilians

Zactly.

The next generation might get around to calling it by its new name ....... by which time it will have changed again anyway.

so we sell the naming rights to a stadium that everyone with call ravenhill anyway, we get money in the coffers to spend on the club.... this is a good thing, its the pro era, like it or lump it. if you want to enjoy amateur rugby there are many fantastic clubs around the province who could do with your custom
