Kingspan Stadium
Just disgusted sold out to the man.
A ground with true history ruined by a silly deal.
So much for the talk by our leader of not changing the name before consulting the fans.

Not a massive fan of this type of thing but they're giving us plenty of cash and the name 'Ravenhill' will hardly all of a sudden go out of fashion amongst rugby folk

Volunteer at an animal sanctuary; it will fill you with joy , despair, but most of all love, unconditional love of the animals.

Re: Kingspan Stadium
Who cares - we'll all still call it Ravenhill and it means more money to fund the team.
Given it will still be know as Ravenhill by fans I'm surprised Kingspan didn't have the sense to acknowledge that in the name ie "Kingspan Stadium at Ravenhill Rugby Grounds"

Whatever way you look at it now every reference in the media, on tickets, programmes everything bar the supporters talking amongst themselves it will be known as the Kingspan Stadium. Still think they could have included Ravenhill.. Shame

I think we would all have preferred it to be called Ravenhill, but he who pays the piper to the tune of several million can call whatever tune he likes......Cockatrice wrote:Whatever way you look at it now every reference in the media, on tickets, programmes everything bar the supporters talking amongst themselves it will be known as the Kingspan Stadium. It will be called Ravenhill in common parlance anyway.
Re: Kingspan Stadium
Not too fussed on the new name, but rewriting the history of Ravenhill is beyond the pale.
From the wiki page:
Kingspan Stadium has hosted 18 international matches, including pool games in both the 1991 and 1999 Rugby World Cups.
WTF?

Re: Kingspan Stadium
But it's not a new stadium. It's just Ravenhill with a different name.
You haven't seen me at my best yet. Let's be honest, you probably never will.
Re: Kingspan Stadium
I'm sorry but this is a load of balls. It's giving Ulster Rugby a good chuck of cash for something which has absolutely zero impact on the team or fans. It's free money.ulsterfleg wrote:Just disgusted sold out to the man.

Who cares what the "official" name of the stadium is. Every single fan will still call it Ravenhill. So what's the problem here?
