TV3 has confirmed it will be the exclusive home of this year’s Rugby World Cup.
All 48 matches will be shown free-to-air across the station when the tournament kicks off in September, it was announced today at a launch from The Merrion Hotel in Dublin.
It feels wrong. TV3 haven't a bloody clue how to present sports coverage usually. They have lined up some right langers for this, as well as a few decent analysts.
At the launch rugby coaching guru Matt Williams, ex-Irish international scrum half Peter Stringer and former British and Irish Lions player Stuart Barnes were announced as part of TV3’s team of analysts joining former Irish captain Keith Wood.
They will be joined by soon-to-be retired Leinster flanker Shane Jennings, former Ireland international rugby union player Hugo MacNeill and legendary English World Cup winning flanker Neil Back.
Irish sports commentator Conor McNamara, former Munster academy member Murray Kinsella and rugby analyst Liam Toland join Matt Cooper and TV3’s own Sinead Kissane on the broadcaster’s presentation team.
One of the many reasons I take no stock on the RWC is the lamentable TV coverage. Has ITV not always had the RWC? They certainly do this year and their coverage has always been appalling.
I have no idea what TV3 is, never seen it, very much doubt if I have access to it.
Feck the fecking World fecking Cup. Sooner it's over sooner next season can get going properly.
NEVER MOVE ON. Years on, I cannot ever watch Ireland with anything but indifference, I continue to wish for the imminent death of Donal Spring, the FIRFUC's executioner of Wee Paddy & Wee Stu, and I hate the FIRFUCs with undiminished passion.
Yip, just when I thought he'd gone the way of white dog turds ...............someone just had to bring him up.

Baggy- TV3 is the ITV of Ireland, although not quite as bad of course as sawing off one's own bag isn't even as bad as ITV.

He will then pause, and say, "if only I'd been able to finish the job rather than go home for family reasons, just think where Northern Hemisphere rugby would be now"?
The assembled pundits will all nod sagely and mutter "Fair play to ye Matt, you're a good'un" - except Barnes who will still be in the green room demolishing the all day buffet.
The only thing missing will be his sidekick, Franno.
