2015/16 - Captain

Post by rorybestsbigbaldnoggin »

Rory'll be away, obviously, along with most lieutenants bar Wilson and possibly Diack.

Has vdM been here long enough to get it? He's obviously captain material . . .

I said at the beginning of the season I thought Franco would be captain material. After seeing him play (pretty much non-stop) this season, I think he'd make an excellent captain. He already does a lot of talking on the pitch as it is.

Franco.

I have a huge amount of respect for Rory, but being captain detracts from his game :red:

Do any of us really know, or are we just speculating based on very little?

Who are the leaders in training? Who do the other guys look to? Who is the most effective communicator? Some posters may be privy to bits of this in house info, but not too many.

As the starter of the thread, I can say I see nothing other than what we all can observe on-pitch.

On that (limited, fair enough) basis, Franco is an outstanding prospective captain.

I agree. The only fly in the ointment is will he be staying after next season? Will he take a one year contract extension or extensions?

Contenders might include Cave, Wilson, Chad and Best with maybe PJ as one for the future.
I tend to prefer my captains to be big South African second rowers though I hope no one sees VDM as a Muller lite.

How much game time are Chad and Rory going to get this year?

Never thought of Cave, to be fair. Restricted myself to the forwards . . .
