Interestingly, and by interesting I mean horrendous, I genuinely don't believe any one of Browne, Diack, Wilson or Reidy would make the current Connacht match day squad.
That really hits home at just how pish poorly we have recruited over the last 3/4 years.

Re: Glasgow v Ulster Fri 25th March 19:35 BBC NI/BBC ALBA/TG
Are we the worst second half side in the league? Maybe I'm being hyper sensitive but we've been in a winning position at half time on at least three occasions only to fall completely away?
That really stinks of poor coaching and/or fitness.

Re: Ulster v Connacht Friday 1st April 7:35pm BBCNI/TG4
The bottom line is win, lose or draw our forwards coach and our backs coach have failed to deliver anything close to consistent excellence for two full seasons now. Our forwards coach was also in charge of the academy when Finlay Bealham was bucked out and guess what, 2016 he's an Irish Internationa...

That was a farce on many different levels. Top four, I imagine is now unlikely, Top two shirely all but impossible.
It really does hurt watching that sort of collapse.

Scrummie shirey you know by now they, Best, JP & Trimble are on a down week after their 6N exertions as decreed by our D4 paymasters. See Roosters reply.......Zebo, Earls, D Ryan and T O’Donnell starting with Stander and Murray on the bench. they're playing Zebre by the way, who are we playing....

Re: Piutau Signs for Wasps
Undoubtedly so but if such if such a situation came to pass they'd be extremely foolish to pass up on some sort of remuneration for the inconvenience.

Re: Piutau Signs for Wasps
I'd imagine, contractual stipulations depending, that £'s would be the only thing Ulster would be interested in though.

Ruckie I didn't say your information was not appreciated and I know you've long said UR did their best to keep him. I felt that you came across as a bit school teacher-ish with your instruction to 'not say Ulster dropped the ball' tis all. Things posted oft get lost in the aether here and not everyo...

Re: Piutau Signs for Wasps
Given the sums involved I doubt the NZRFU could, or rather would choose to, compete.
Piatau is quite clearly a world class player but he's a back three player and it's not as if the ABs are short in that department.
His value to Ulster is greater than his value to NZ.

Tbf Neil doesn't sit in on the UR media briefings every other day. No need to be quite so pious.ruckover wrote:
So don't say Ulster "dropped the ball" over Scholes. They didn't. They simply couldn't match a superior offer from elsewhere.

Re: Glasgow v Ulster Fri 25th March 19:35 BBC NI/BBC ALBA/TG
Very average pack. Need Henry to hit a level he hasn't managed this season and Nick/Hendo to carry well and hope the rest do their job supporting them. Will do well to get a LBP. Strangely not worried about Hendo being out for 3 months. Remember last season against the Tigers and he'd been out for 6...

Re: Glasgow v Ulster Fri 25th March 19:35 BBC NI/BBC ALBA/TG
The wing terrifies me post-Trimble and -Bowe. I know I'll be publicly flogged for saying this but Gilroy seems like he's well on his way to becoming a showpony, capable of the ridiculous but content to fade in and out of games as whims dictate. The loss of Scholes is the damn worst thing I've seen ...

Re: Six Nations Week 4
I know you were not suggesting it but I can assure you it is not Ulster whinging. I'd have Trimble out of the team on two counts: 1-His mediocre form is not deserving of selection 2-He's 31 so should have to be playing exceptionally well to merit continued selection. Zebo and Earls on the wings Payn...

Six Nations Week 4
Preach Baggy, I'd a spare feck floating about just prior to the announcement but all of a sudden it simply disappeared. Couldn't care less. I had tickets for the weekend and I've just passed them off to a good friend who is still new fangled enough to rugby not to be enraged by this continued farce....
