Anyone know if just training with the squad until he heads off to WC with Samoa?
I believe that's the case. He doesn't appear to have signed for any club yet.
What a waste. Hope he gets sorted soon

It’s younger brother Bryn that’s competing for the academy place. Zac not involved with ulster

Why isn't Zac involved with Ulster? He seems a strong and fast back row - maybe just what we need.

He used to be. Didn’t make the academy, played a few development games and also spent a bit of time with Worcester were he also didn’t make it

Fair play to him, would rather go to compete at the Olympics than play for Ulster this coming season. Going to be a tight squeeze the next couple of seasons with the finances not being great

Maybe it's worth another look as players develop as they get older.

I suppose Zac is the child that Andy left the field in the second half of a European Quarter or Semi final, to be at his birth? Wow doesn't time fly!!

We only have two NIQs, when we're allowed three. I presume we're keeping one spot open in case we have an injury crisis and need to make an emergency signing. And tighthead is probably the position we're most likely to have an injury crisis in. So who knows...

I would say Zac hasn't made it --maybe didn't fancy hanging round the Academy --playing AIL

His call --a few players have come through the 7s set-up , 7s are a fine game for fitness ,stamina handling and tackling but useless for positioning and roles when transferring to the 15 game .

Here is one option, that contractually may be binding.
Last season JTA was signed as TH cover when the signing that was made fell through due to injury.

Ulster had actually signed Conor Carey from Northampton as the 3rd TH, only he did his ACL in his last game for Saints.
I have no knowledge of CC's rehab, fitness or desire to play again.
It would tick the box for an IQ player, but maybe not set the Ravers on fire with excitement.
I see Carey has joined Rosslyn Park in Nat League 1.

Big Jeff joins Little Les then!

Two decent fellas who tried their best for Ulster - good luck to them.

Jeff plus Henry Speight in action for the Barbarians against Samoa on Friday in Brive.

If anyone fancies it, I can recommend a decent boozer.
