Re: Treviso v Ulster Sat 10th Sep

Hendo must be a candidate. Strong candidate. I imagine 2-3 Ulster players will go - Henderson, Best and Payne all have decent shouts and wouldn't be utterly surprised if one of the young centres had a big season and went. You can just see Gatland loving McCloskey. Not sure why all the complaining a...

Re: Treviso v Ulster Sat 10th Sep

Haven't seen the game but delighted with that result. With so many players missing it's just about picking up the wins - especially away from home so job done and move on. Any stand-out players? Did Charlie get much decent ball to have a go at them? Haven't seen the team sheet either from the looks...

Job done, time to get on with the weekend. Shame about the TBP but there we go.

So God's a competent IQ scrum-half then?

Re: Ulster vs Dragons Friday 2nd September - updates

4 out of 5 of our bench forwards were young enough guys. I can't blame Kiss if he wants Diack as the 5th, even if I too would like to see the fresh blood and big carriers advanced.

Re: Ruan - Crapola Vu all over again

I am very sure that the argument of gametime for IQ talent benefiting the national team (in this case) is a bad one and that in fact, insofar as Ireland feels anything from this, it will suffer.

We have in excess of 10,000 season ticket holders. If each season ticket holder gives only £30, that's £300,000 which would reward Ruan for staying.
Yes.

Re: Ulster vs Dragons Friday 2nd September - updates

Clive Ross made 12 carries, 12 tackles (0 missed) and 3 turnovers last night. Stats aren't everything I know, but that ain't bad. To whoever said focus on bringing in a world class openside - where do you think Coetzee's going to play when he's fit? I'll give you a hint: not 8. Where did you get th...

Re: Ulster vs Dragons Friday 2nd September - updates

First games of the season aren't for weaving magic, they're for knocking the rust off and getting maximum points. Job done. Herron and Kane should be better next week for this. They're in very hard positions and making big steps up. I thought they did their jobs well enough and showed signs that the...

Re: Ruan - Crapola Vu all over again

My point is if the only reason Ulster can provide to resign Ruan is that he is essential for the further development of Paddy Jackson then it's no wonder they got a swift kick out the door and told the IR Fu had other investment priorities for the necessary funds . a) Clearly not the only argument ...

A vote elsewhere may get a different result to be fair but given the number of Irish age grade SHs are Leinster and the number at Ulster, its not much of a contest, is it...

Re: Ruan - Crapola Vu all over again

As for all this "Well its all Ulster's fault why should the IRFU help them" malarkey, I don't see why its so unreasonable that we expect the IRFU to help us. I accept the national team is their priority and rightly so but - news flash - this move probably harms Ireland's national team more...

Re: Ruan - Crapola Vu all over again

*calm voice* Looks like we'll be going west to poach a scrum-half sooner or later then as there's SFA else ready made available. *end of calm voice* The IRFU decision is that of a drooling moron. This is not going to help Ulster deliver a quality scrum-half. Ulster's failure to develop a successor t...
